Prevention and monitoring in the Pharmec Cabinet application: functional innovations and improvements to support family physicians

Prevenție și monitorizare

In modern family medicine, prevention and monitoring are no longer optional – they become an essential component for continuous patient care and for the smooth functioning of the practice. Efficient management of eligible patients, compliance with legal intervals and active monitoring of health status require digital tools adapted to the realities of practicing medicine nowadays.

Based on these needs and in line with the strategic priorities defined by the authorities, the Pharmec Cabinet application has been updated with a series of improvements specifically dedicated to prevention and monitoring, designed to support family doctors in their daily work, reduce administrative time and increase the safety of the medical act.

National Health Digitalization Strategy: the official framework for prevention and monitoring

The direction of developing digital solutions in family medicine is also supported at the institutional level. The National Health Digitalization Strategy (2026–2030), officially published by the Ministry of Health in February 2026, clearly establishes the new priorities of the Romanian medical system, with a strong focus on prevention and population monitoring.

This document explicitly introduces:

  • Orienting the health system towards prevention and continuous monitoring,
  • Patient digital access to medical history,
  • Integrating medical practices into interoperable ecosystems,
  • Focus on patient-centered care, not on isolated medical episodes/acts.

The strategy also emphasizes the need for coherent systems that track the patient over time. Moreover, an important new element compared to previous years is the change in the digital paradigm within the medical practice:

  • The patient becomes an active participant, through dedicated portals and mobile applications,
  • Post-consultation monitoring becomes standard practice,
  • Reports dedicated to prevention activities are introduced,
  • Functionalities that integrate artificial intelligence (AI) are encouraged: scheduling, sorting, alerts,
  • Prevention (screening, recalls, chronic monitoring) becomes a central priority.

In this context, software for medical offices in Romania is entering a new stage: from predominantly administrative digitalization, to active, patient-oriented prevention and monitoring.

Prevention and monitoring – a structured approach, not just a service

In line with this new strategic direction, in current medical practice, prevention activity involves much more than the punctual provision of a service. Specifically, it is about the correct identification of patients eligible for such services, planning, follow-up and documentation according to the regulations in force.

The Pharmec Cabinet application now integrates all these processes directly into the practice workflow, through automation of medical services that underpin prevention and functional improvements that allow doctors to have a clear and updated picture of patients who require preventive evaluations or periodic monitoring.

Rapid Services: instant access to prevention and monitoring in the Pharmec Cabinet app

One of the most important such functional improvements is the Rapid Services interface, which centralizes prevention services, monitoring services, and additional services in one place.

Based on the patient’s medical history, the application automatically displays eligibility and the intervals in which services can be provided, according to the regulations in force. Thus, the doctor can:

  • Quickly access the necessary services,
  • Reduce operating time in the medical practice,
  • Avoid omissions or errors in the provision of services.

Monitoring sheets logically integrated into the Prevention TAB

For more intuitive navigation, the monitoring sheets have been relocated to the Prevention TAB. This reorganization significantly simplifies daily activity:

  • All prevention and monitoring tools are in one place,
  • Access to essential information is faster,
  • The workflow becomes clearer and more efficient.

The result is a consistent user experience and better control over the medical activity.

Centralized report for eligible patients: proactivity and efficiency in prevention

The new Centralizing Report for prevention and monitoring provides a complete perspective on eligible patients, allowing:

  • Rapid identification of targeted patients,
  • Viewing the date from which they can benefit from services,
  • Efficient organization of appointments.

By using this report, doctors can take a proactive approach, contacting patients on time for appointments and ensuring continuity of care.

Improved dashboard and expanded statistics for informed decisions

The application update also brings improvements in the Dashboard and analysis area, through:

  • Real-time capitation movement – The dashboard now displays changes in the patient list for the current month, facilitating quick tracking and management of administrative situations;
  • Detailed statistics for additional services – The statistics section now includes additional information about the number of services provided and the corresponding score, contributing to a correct assessment of the practice’s activity and optimizing reporting.

Updated risk charts for safe and standardized assessments

To support medical monitoring, Pharmec Cabinet now includes updated risk charts, with predefined normal values. These allow:

  • Rapid assessment of patient risk,
  • Unified interpretation of clinical data,
  • Reducing errors in the decision-making process.

Through all these improvements, the Pharmec Cabinet application aligns with the directions established by the National Health Digitalization Strategy 2026–2030, concretely contributing to the transition from administrative digitalization to prevention and active monitoring.

Thanks to its intelligent functionalities and constant updates, Pharmec Cabinet becomes thus an essential ally in the digitalization of prevention and monitoring, facilitating the automation of key processes in the medical practice, an increased operational efficiency, as well as a better doctor-patient relationship. All this, of course, by complying with legislative requirements and methodological guides.

These newly improved features also reflect our team’s ongoing commitment to developing software solutions tailored to the real needs of family doctors. With an emphasis on prevention, monitoring and efficient organization of daily practice work, Pharmec Cabinet supports a proactive approach to patient care and contributes to increasing the quality of medical care.
